Have you ever carved something and wished you would have written down the details of the carving. Maybe you’ve seen projects that you would like to carve at a later date but then forgot what they were. I have often came across projects myself and thought I’d like to carve that sometime. But when I was ready to carve I couldn’t remember what it was. I decided that it was time to create a log of my wood carving projects. Searching Amazon I wanted a book that I could write down everything. All the details from wood type, size and tools the steps I will use to achieve the carving project. There was no such book, so I created one.
Write it Down
I also wanted to be able to write down all the paints used and in what order I painted them. Even though I normally like to only carve something once. There has been times that I needed to carve the project over again, maybe for a friend as a gift or my little niece who always wants one of my carvings to play with. Often I wondered if other carvers have ever come across this problem which I assumed they have, after so many years of carving you can’t always remember how you got to the finished piece. Hence, I created a wood carving project log book so that others carvers could benefit from.
The wood carving project log has pages for detailing everything about your carving. Wood details, size, carving steps, painting details. There is even a graph page to draw out a pattern for a project you have in your head.
This book can also be useful to plan out details for a class or seminar you may be teaching. You can make copies of the pages as handouts for your students. The students can follow along with you and have reference material they can take home when the class is over.
